Job satisfaction
Job satisfaction refers to the extent to which employees are satisfied with their work, their working conditions and the working environment. It includes aspects such as appreciation in the workplace, the relationship with superiors and colleagues, the workload, the opportunity for professional development, remuneration and work-life balance.
High job satisfaction can lead to increased motivation, better performance and increased employee retention, while low job satisfaction can lead to dissatisfaction, stress and possibly staff turnover.
