Full-Time Lead Cook | 80 Hours/2 Weeks | Day Shift (5:30am – 1:30pm) | Every Other Weekend Rotation

Victory Health & Rehab is an 87-bed nursing facility situated in the western suburbs of Minneapolis.

Responsibilities

The Lead Cook is responsible for the proper preparation, cooking, and serving of meals while accommodating special diets and residents' dietary preferences. Keeps the work area organized according to established policies and procedures, demonstrating exceptional service levels. Adheres to all federal and state regulations. Oversees staff in the absence or support of the Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provides outstanding service to our residents, families, and guests, ensuring they feel welcome through responsive, friendly interactions.
- Prepares meals for residents, families, guests, and staff. Operates kitchen equipment properly. Follows recipes accurately with an ability to adjust quantities as needed. Adheres to production guidelines for optimal product usage.
- Manages food inventory effectively; assists with inventory checks as needed.
- Supervises dining staff when necessary or in support of leadership directives.
- Maintains a clean, safe workspace; ensures food products are properly labeled and rotated.
- Coordinates with department heads about special events to ensure adequate resources are available.
- Ensures dietary needs are met promptly for those with special requirements.
- Practices safety and sanitation techniques diligently during work hours.
- Collaborates efficiently within a dynamic environment; supports community employees under leadership guidance.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working in commercial kitchens
- Familiarity with kitchen tools
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Current ServSafe certification or equivalent
- Ability to adhere strictly to all facility rules including but not limited to HIPAA compliance, Resident's Bill of Rights adherence among others

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in senior care settings
- Culinary training or certification
- Demonstrated leadership experience

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
