Tax Preparer

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual, desiring to become a Tax Preparer and join our team. The ideal candidate will assist clients with accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns. This role requires a strong knowledge of tax laws, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual and business income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax regulations.

• Analyze client financial documents such as income statements, expenses, and other tax-related information.

• Provide guidance and explanations to clients about tax obligations, deductions, credits, and potential refunds.

• Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and make recommendations to clients.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.

• Ensure timely filing of all returns and manage client expectations regarding deadlines.

• Handle client inquiries and resolve tax-related issues professionally.

• Use tax preparation software to complete returns efficiently.

• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information.

Qualifications:

• No experience as an Income Tax Preparer or similar role needed

• Ability to learn federal and state tax laws and regulations.

• Ability to learn tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries, etc.).

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines during tax season.

• [Preferred] Certification as a Tax Preparer, EA (Enrolled Agent)
