About the company
Valley Women's Ensemble is seeking an Artistic Director. The choir rehearses Monday evenings August - May in central Phoenix, presenting two concerts in a Winter/Holiday series and two in a spring series.
Responsibilities include:
Choosing a variety of appropriate music with board input, based on the ability of the group. Creating successful experiences. Teaching parts at rehearsals and scheduled sectionals, encouraging quality vocal production and blend. Directing at all scheduled concerts and any community opportunities which may arise. Pay will be based on applicants abilities and experience. Though a paid accompanist will be provided, keyboard skills are an added plus.
We are a registered 501c3 non-profit and have been in existence for 10 years, performing 2-4 part music for women's voices. Post-covid we are 16-20 singers with a wide range of ages and abilities. We are 'pay to play', each singer pays dues as well as participating in fundraising activities throughout the year. We expect singers to spend time outside of weekly rehearsals working independently on their parts
