Position Overview:
We are seeking a NERC Certified System Operator to join our client's Network Operations Center (NOC) in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage Balancing Authority (BA), Generator Owner (GO), and Generator Operator (GOP) operations while ensuring grid reliability and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute hourly resource strategy for optimal balance of resources
- Monitor and control generation assets in real-time
- Ensure compliance with NERC, WECC, and FERC standards
- Coordinate with reliability entities and commercial partners
- Respond to system disturbances and emergency situations
- Provide training and support to Associate System Operators
- Maintain NERC certification through continuing education
Required Qualifications:
- Current NERC certification at Reliability Coordinator or Balancing Interchange level
- Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience (6+ years)
- 1-5 years of electric operations experience
- Experience with Energy Management Systems/SCADA
- Knowledge of power system economics and real-time energy trading
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
