Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop structural plans and designs, and drawings for other construction personnel to follow.
  • Oversee the building and creation of structures and frames.
  • Analyze and make changes to ongoing projects as they move onward to ensure the safety of structures being built.
  • Work in line with local building codes, considering flooding, fire safety measures, and other variables such as wind tunnels and surface quality.
  • Inspect and analyze existing buildings to determine their safety or viability to be made safe again.
  • Make recommendations to close or demolish unsafe buildings if deemed unsafe to habitation or a risk to the local community.
  • Make plans to renovate listed buildings that may need original restoration work.
  • Work in line with health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Experienced in managing and executing design and engineering projects for industrial buildings, manufacturing facilities, and chemical plants with steel and concrete structures
  • Bachelors degree or above in Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated at least 3 years experience in a structural engineering role.
  • Ability to use : SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, STAAD.
  • Strong ability in drawing, designing, and creating diagrams, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Strong manual dexterity
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize own time and workload.
