Job Overview

Are you ready to lead critical substation projects from conception to commissioning? Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Engineer Substation to join their Juno Beach, FL team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of substation projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all assigned substation projects from the conceptual phase to construction and commissioning.
• Collaborate with the Early-Stage Project Manager and Development Group to define engineering requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR) for compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Develop scopes of work, secure bids, evaluate, and award contracts for engineering consulting resources.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure substation sites, permits, and necessary data for successful execution.
• Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Represent the projects engineering interests in meetings with various levels of management.
• Support Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation and ensure compliance with ISO and Transmission Owner requirements.
• Manage procurement of long-lead major materials to mitigate delays or budget overruns.
• Collaborate with OEMs to adapt designs to client philosophies.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in substation design and engineering of high-voltage projects.
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
• PMP and/or P.E. certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and other industry codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel within North America as required.
