Job Description: Senior Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer with over 15 years of expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency inAzure, GitHub, and related technologiesand will play a pivotal role in supporting our advanced platform engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Design and build scalable platforms, including PaaS and Kubernetes-based environments.
• Pipeline Migration: Migrate existing CI/CD pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automation tools for infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
• System Integration: Integrate monitoring, logging, and CI/CD pipelines into the platform.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure platforms meet rigorous security and compliance requirements.
• Incident Management: Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis and postmortems.
• Process Automation: Automate operational processes, including deployments, backups, and maintenance tasks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Metrics Tracking: Define and track key metrics such as MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) and error budgets.
• On-Call Support: Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical (P1) applications.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in Terraform, ARM, and Bicep.
• Container Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker.
• Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience with Azure cloud services and GitHub Actions.
• Programming/Scripting: Strong programming and scripting capabilities.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and SignalFx.
• Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Scaling Expertise: Experience with scaling challenges in distributed systems.

Certifications Required

• Azure Certifications:
  • AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies
  • AZ-400: Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
