Staff Engineer, Completions & Well Testing

Descriptions

  • Mature CWI designs and evaluate the design options against the project objectives and value drivers following company Well Delivery Process and adhering to appropriate design standards
    Perform detailed design calculations, including tubing design, torque & drag, hydraulics utilizing industry standard software. Evaluate modeling results, identify design issues, and develop mitigations.
  • Prepare Well Functional Specifications, Well Technical Specifications and provide input for Well Proposals.
  • Prepare detailed CWI programs, time and cost estimates for the wells prior to spud.
  • Identify CWI materials, support services, and other long lead time items whilst ensuring these items are procured in a timely manner.
  • Develop well clean up and well test plans. Ensure the well clean up scopes are properly risk assessed and the correct mitigations are in place to manage the SIMOPS
  • Co-ordinate input from Subsurface, Projects and Operations Personnel ensuring that the well test and clean-up objects are met for the two projects, and that all required data is collected and checked for quality.
  • Coordinate the onshore logistics of the well testing equipment ensuring that the correct equipment is available on time and is properly quality controlled and compliant to standard.
  • Provide daily support to the rig to ensure safe and efficient operations. Provide offshore engineering and operational support on the rig as required.
  • Track cost and schedule. Provide updates and look-ahead forecasts as required. Verify cost entries to ensure accuracy and identify issues.
  • Liaise with CWI service contractors and material suppliers ensuring readiness for offshore operations
  • Collaborate with the Wells contract specialists to develop contract tender and farm-in documents, detailed scopes of work, contract ACVs, and perform tender technical evaluations.
  • Contract Holder for CWI related scopes, including well clean up and testing.
  • Organize and prepare Completion Well on Paper (CWOP) exercise, after action reviews (AAR), and close-out documentation
  • Ensure CWI risks are identified, mitigations developed, and communicated to the rig team.
  • Capture operational best practices and lessons learnt. Ensure these are incorporated into CWI program and cascaded to the rig team.
  • Contribute to peer reviews, technical challenge workshops shareholder technical reviews, cost reviews, and NPT discussions.
  • Support Operations team on routine maintenance of Xmas trees and wellheads. Assists with investigation of well equipment failure that may endanger safety of personnel/assets or lead to production unplanned down time

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CWI discipline including well unloading and testing in offshore environment
  • Minimum 5 years in an offshore completion supervisory operations position, 
  • Holder of IWCF Level 4, Supervisor Certificate for Surface BOP Stack
  • Proven ability in completion design and knowledgeable about the latest developments related to well design, drilling, and completions.
  • Skilled in offshore well construction operations, high angle / horizontal completions, and proven ability to oversee daily drilling operations.
  • Skilled in sand control completion designs
  • Proven track record in well clean up, testing and down-hole stimulation design and execution for oil wells and gas wells
  • Skilled in material selection and technical specifications for completion tubing, PDG, jewelries, and xmas tree components. 
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures of completion equipment.
  • Strong operational focus and understanding of personal and process safety
  • Thorough understanding of well control, well barriers, and MOC
  • Experienced in tender evaluations and postaward contractor performance management during execution.
  • Knowledgeable in Well Integrity Management
  • Experienced in simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) offshore
  • Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency.
  • Experienced in using industry standard well engineering software and interpretation of results.
  • Prior experience working with floater and tender assisted drilling rigs would be beneficial
  • Experienced with surface wellhead and tree design, testing and installation.
  • Knowledge of Nodal analysis and artificial lift design will be beneficial
