Position Overview:
The Head of Implementation will play a critical role in the execution of TSL Foundations strategic initiatives, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to budget. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the implementation process, from program planning to execution and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, leadership, and program delivery, with a passion for making a tangible impact on communities and individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation & Delivery:
Lead the successful implementation of all foundation programs and projects across multiple regions. Ensure that programs are designed, executed, and evaluated in alignment with TSL Foundations mission and strategic objectives. Work closely with program managers and teams to define clear goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources. Establish and maintain project plans, manage timelines, and ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed. Troubleshoot and resolve implementation challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to program activities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Build and lead a high-performing implementation team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across all teams, including cross-functional teams in operations, monitoring & evaluation, and communications. Act as a key liaison between executive leadership, project teams, and external partners to ensure smooth and successful program execution.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, donors, government entities, and community stakeholders. Oversee reporting and ensure timely and transparent communication regarding program progress, outcomes, and challenges. Develop and implement strategies for stakeholder engagement and satisfaction, ensuring alignment with program goals.
Budget & Resource Management:
Lead the development of budgets for program implementation, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. Monitor program expenses and ensure compliance with budget guidelines, making adjustments as needed. Support the procurement of resources, materials, and services necessary for program success.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:
Ensure that programs are monitored and evaluated effectively to measure success and impact. Utilize data and feedback to continuously improve implementation strategies and processes. Provide regular progress reports to the Executive Director and Board, offering insights and recommendations based on program outcomes.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
Identify and mitigate risks related to program implementation, ensuring a proactive approach to potential challenges. Establish and enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards in all aspects of program execution.
Qualifications:
Education: A masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, etc.).
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects in a nonprofit or similar setting.
Experience working with diverse teams and managing cross-functional collaborations.
Strong knowledge of implementation best practices and frameworks.
Skills:
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management abilities, with a solid understanding of project management software and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMI, etc.).
Ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Proficiency in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight.o Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation practices.
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
