Sr. Project Control Manager - Solar

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Control Manager to oversee and manage the planning, scheduling, cost control, and reporting functions for solar energy projects. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by implementing robust project control systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams to align schedules with project milestones.

2. Cost Control & Budgeting:

• Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, including forecasts and cost estimates.
• Track project expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Perform cost variance analysis and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

3. Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks impacting cost, schedule, and quality.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation plans in coordination with stakeholders.
• Conduct regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

• Generate and present periodic progress reports, including cost performance, schedule updates, and earned value analysis.
• Maintain detailed records of project activities, changes, and correspondence.
• Support audits and compliance requirements by ensuring accurate documentation.

5. Stakeholder Coordination:

• Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and external contractors to align project controls with overall objectives.
• Act as the point of contact for all project control-related matters.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners regarding project performance.

6. Process Improvement:

• Continuously review and improve project control processes and tools to enhance efficiency.
• Implement best practices and industry standards in project controls for solar energy projects.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related fields.

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in project control roles, preferably within the renewable energy or construction industry.
• Proven track record of managing cost and schedule controls for large-scale solar projects.

Skills:

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in cost estimation and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with solar project lifecycles, from development to construction and commissioning.

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of renewable energy systems, particularly photovoltaic (PV) solar installations.
• Understanding of regulatory and permitting processes for solar projects.
