Project Development Manager - Solar

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Development Manager to lead the development of renewable energy projects from concept to execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, permitting, and stakeholder engagement, with a passion for driving the transition to sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Development:

• Identify, evaluate, and secure potential sites for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, biomass, or other).
• Conduct feasibility studies, including resource assessment, environmental impact analysis, and financial modeling.
• Oversee grid connection and transmission planning.

2. Permitting & Compliance:

• Manage land use agreements, permits, and regulatory approvals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and environmental standards.

3. Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government agencies, utilities, and community groups.
• Lead negotiations with vendors, contractors, and partners.
• Address community concerns and promote project benefits.

4. Project Planning & Execution:

• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and milestones.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental consultants, and legal advisors.
• Prepare and present investment proposals to internal and external stakeholders.

5. Risk Management:

• Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes impacting renewable energy development.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related fields (Masters preferred).

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development or related industries.
• Proven track record of delivering projects within budget and schedule.

Skills:

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and project economics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with permitting and regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy sector.

Technical Knowledge:

• Understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, energy storage, etc.).
• Knowledge of grid interconnection and energy market dynamics.
