Lead Low Voltage Technician

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Low Voltage Technician to join our team. This role focuses exclusively on installation work for commercial and multi-family dwellings, providing leadership and technical expertise while ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role in the low voltage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of low voltage systems, including structured cabling for commercial and multi-family projects.
  • Supervise and guide a team of technicians, ensuring work is performed efficiently and meets quality standards.
  • Pull, terminate, and test Cat5/Cat6 cables in various settings.
  • Install and oversee the installation of devices such as j-hooks, patch panels, and cable racks.
  • Assemble and mount equipment racks, ladder racks, and other cable support structures.
  • Ensure all cabling is labeled and organized according to industry standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure adherence to safety regulations and specifications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-site project updates and troubleshooting.

Nice to Have

  • Extensive experience installing and troubleshooting low voltage systems, with a strong preference for advanced technical skills.
  • Proficiency in fiber splicing and troubleshooting existing fiber plants.
  • Expertise in installing overhead cable supports, J-Hooks, and properly aligning cable running lines with trays.
  • Advanced termination experience with Category 5, 5E, 6, 6a, fiber strands over 100, and copper.
  • Strong finish work skills, including the installation of faceplates and device labeling.
  • Experience with anaerobic (2-part epoxy) terminations.
  • Proficiency with Fluke OTDR and Fluke Power meters.
  • Experience in medium-to-advanced fiber network troubleshooting.
  • Background in new commercial construction, tenant improvements, and remodels.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to conduct structured cabling, security/access control, and related cable system installations for large commercial projects.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional low voltage installation experience, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and exhibit a positive, respectful attitude.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a company-standard drug screen and background check.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Availability for 40+ hours per week.
