We are seeking a skilled and experienced Low Voltage Foreman to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects, managing crews, ensuring quality installation of low voltage systems, and maintaining detailed project documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to take charge of commercial and multi-family projects while contributing to the success of our growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of project leads and crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards.
- Manage day-to-day field operations, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct structured cabling, security/access control, and related system installations for large commercial and multi-family projects.
- Oversee the installation of low voltage systems, including pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5/Cat6 cables.
- Supervise the installation of devices such as j-hooks, patch panels, cable racks, and equipment racks.
- Ensure all cabling is properly labeled, organized, and aligned with industry standards and project requirements.
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, project managers, and general contractors, providing updates and addressing issues as they arise.
- Complete and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, material tracking, and as-built documentation.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure continuous growth and performance improvement.
Nice to Have
- Advanced experience in low voltage installation and troubleshooting, including fiber splicing and structured cabling systems.
- Expertise in terminating Category 5, 5E, 6, 6a, and fiber strands, as well as copper.
- Familiarity with new commercial construction, tenant improvements, and remodels.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
- Experience with Fluke OTDR, power meters, and advanced troubleshooting of fiber networks.
- Background in installing and programming access control systems, including mag locks, door strikes, and card readers.
- Strong skills in overseeing finish work, such as faceplate installations and device labeling.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in low voltage installation with at least 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., foreman, supervisor, or similar).
- Proven ability to manage and oversee crews, leads, and subcontractors on-site.
- Strong organizational skills to manage project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and updates.
- Professional appearance and demeanor with excellent communication skills to interact with clients, project managers, and crews.
- Possess a valid driver's license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a company-standard drug screen and background check.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Availability for 40+ hours per week.
