Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team in Savannah, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and historical data to deliver accurate estimates of materials, labor, and equipment required for project completion. Your expertise will guide the creation of competitive project budgets and support informed decision-making by management.

This position is pivotal in ensuring the success of our projects, requiring strong analytical skills, industry experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • A degree in Engineering or comparable technical training and experience.
  • Expertise in using estimating and bidding software.
  • Strong capability to analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proven skills in leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating professionalism in all stakeholder interactions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, market trends, and construction techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in specific estimating software applications.
  • Professional certifications in construction management or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and leverage historical data to develop precise project estimates.
  • Maintain organized and accurate documentation of estimates, including supplier pricing, market trends, and other critical details.
  • Create and present comprehensive reports, bid packages, and project summaries to field teams for awarded projects.
  • Offer recommendations on design alternatives, factoring in cost efficiency, material availability, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations to promote a safe working environment.
  • Independently manage the estimating process for mid- to large-scale roadway projects with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, vendors, and internal and external teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements.
