Role Overview

For our client’s Head Office in Cape Town, they are looking for a Junior Groups Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing their series travel programs and ensuring that each group experience is seamless and of the highest quality. As a Junior Groups Consultant, you will report directly to the Leisure Groups Team Leader

Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management or Events Management.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Group Travel, with a focus on Groups Series.
- Profound knowledge of South Africa as a tourism destination.
- Elementary understanding of Tourplan and WETU systems.
- Ideally must have experience with; and a good understanding of the German Market and Culture.
- German Speaking is an advantage (read, write and converse).
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet the demands and high pressure of the Travel Industry.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both clients and suppliers.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and proven track record in use thereof.
- If not based in Cape Town, the candidate must be willing to travel to the Head Office at least twice a year, with a minimum stay of one week per visit (at the company’s expense).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire process from booking confirmation, to execution of Group Travel programs, invoicing, and on-the-ground support.
- Handle multiple series programs simultaneously, ensuring a consistent level of service, quality, and attention to detail.
- Address any unexpected issues during the travel experience immediately, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guides.
- Work closely with other departments such as Product, and Finance to ensure smooth operations and communication.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues sharing knowledge and best practices to drive team success.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, feedback, and program performance for continuous improvement.
- Attend Team Meetings and provide Daily Reports to Team Leader/s and Director/s.
- Maintain a clear, concise, and effective communication style with clients, Management, and the team.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our client’s tours.
