Role Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer (Agile) with 5+ years of experience in IT and a strong background in Java web applications, automation testing, and Agile methodologies. As part of the State of Arizona's Agile Software Development team, you will contribute to improving business operations by designing and developing robust web applications and services. This is an on-site position with potential hybrid work options depending on team requirements.

You will work across the entire application stack, from automated testing to user interfaces, back-end services, and database operations, using modern frameworks and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Java-based web applications and services using jQuery, Bootstrap, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
• Write and maintain automation test scripts, leveraging tools such as Cucumber and Selenium.
• Collaborate with Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software in iterative sprints.
• Participate in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD) processes.
• Work on full-stack development tasks, including user interface design, controller logic, back-end services, and database operations.
• Use Atlassian Agile tools like JIRA to manage project tasks and progress.
• Ensure compliance with a 7-year national county criminal clearance requirement.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • 5+ years of working experience in Information Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Java web applications or services.
  • 2+ years of experience creating automation test scripts.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • jQuery, Bootstrap, Java 8, Spring Framework, Selenium, Cucumber, Apache Tomcat, Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with BDD and TDD methodologies.
• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum teams, using tools like JIRA and Atlassian Agile.
• Must be able to work on-site 5 days per week, with hybrid possibilities based on team needs.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with DevOps-driven development pipelines.
• Advanced knowledge of Cucumber and automation testing techniques.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and working directly with Scrum Masters or Product Owners.
