Senior Veterinary Surgeon

GLG Vets is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established practice in Hertfordshire. This is a full-time role with a varied caseload and the opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive environment.

Location: Hertfordshire
Full-time: 40 hours per week (4 days, 1 in 4 weekends and OOH)
Salary: Up to £75,000 (dependent on experience), plus benefits

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care to a range of cases, with the opportunity to manage complex procedures and surgeries.
• Lead and mentor a dedicated team of vets and support staff, providing guidance and support.
• Ensure exceptional standards of patient care and client communication.
• Be an active participant in the ongoing development of the practice, contributing to its success and growth.
• Participate in the 1 in 4 weekends and on-call (OOH) rota.

Ideal Candidate:

• RCVS registered and ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a veterinary surgeon.
• Proficient in surgery, diagnostics, and emergency medicine.
• A passion for mentoring junior staff and providing a high level of client care.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
