Role Summary
As a Supply Chain Manager in the cosmetics industry, you will oversee and optimize the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement of raw materials to the delivery of finished products to clients. Your goal will be to enhance efficiency, control costs, and ensure compliance with high-quality standards while supporting the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management and Procurement
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers of raw materials, packaging, and components.
- Negotiate contracts to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards specific to cosmetics regulations
Inventory and Demand Planning
- Forecast demand based on sales trends, marketing campaigns, and market insights.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance production timelines, product lifecycles, and cost management.
- Prevent stockouts and ensure availability to meet fluctuating demands.
Logistics Coordination
- Oversee logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing, to ensure timely and quality delivery of finished products.
- Streamline logistics flows to reduce delivery times and costs while enhancing customer service.
- Maintain traceability throughout the distribution chain in compliance with industry regulations.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including storage costs, delivery times, stockout rates, and service levels.
- Implement improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Drive digitization and automation efforts to modernize the supply chain.
Team Management and Cross-functional Collaboration
- Lead and motivate a team of buyers, planners, and logistics professionals.
- Collaborate with marketing, production, quality, and sales teams to align supply chain strategies with company goals.
- Ensure transparent communication regarding supply chain performance, goals, and challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (with a specialization in Supply Chain).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the cosmetics or consumer goods industry.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in supply chain management tools (e.g., ERP, SAP).
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic industry regulations and quality standards
Soft Skills:
- Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
