Mechatronic Hardware Engineer – Climate Systems
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechatronic Hardware Engineer to join our Cab Climate team responsible for the development of climate units (HVAC) and related components within vehicle platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers to deliver optimized Climate Management Systems for vehicle applications, ensuring efficient performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. You will manage both mechanical and electrical system development, working on advanced climate control technologies to meet evolving industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Climate System Development: Lead the development of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, air quality control, and filtration.
- Component Design Integration: Develop complex components, ensuring they meet system and vehicle requirements while optimizing for efficiency, quality, cost, weight, manufacturability, and serviceability.
- Verification and Testing: Develop and execute design verification plans and test methods to ensure the reliability and performance of climate systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development suppliers, engineers, and colleagues from other sites, to ensure project success.
- Ownership of Deliveries: Take ownership of your assigned area, managing the design and delivery of climate-related components, and drive collaboration across teams.
- Documentation: Accurately document the development process, component design, and technical requirements for the relevant systems.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of climate systems (HVAC, air conditioning, heating, air filtration, etc.).
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and refrigeration principles.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical system development, including components like actuators and sensors.
- Experience in development and verification processes and methods.
- Software knowledge is considered a merit.
- CAD skills are a plus.
- Educational Background:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a similar technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry Experience:
- Previous experience in the automotive industry, specifically in climate or thermal systems development.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
