Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Managing Tax Director to join our tax team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of various tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with team members, contributing to our collective goals while enhancing your expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Return Management: Review, oversee, and prepare complex income tax returns for Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality of financial statements through thorough review processes.
- International Tax Compliance: Facilitate and manage planning for international tax matters, including waivers and tax returns.
- Estimated Tax Payments: Oversee and review required estimated tax payments to ensure compliance.
- Policy Development: Create, maintain, and adhere to financial and tax reporting policies and procedures.
- Year-End Processes: Manage the year-end shareholder bonus process and ensure accurate tax preparation work papers and investment reconciliations.
- W-2 and 1099 Distribution: Calculate and distribute W-2s and 1099s, and handle all related tax correspondence.
- Tax Audits: Facilitate and oversee tax audits, ensuring a smooth process.
- Payroll Tax Returns: Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
- Entity Management: Facilitate the creation and dissolution of entities, including obtaining Articles of Incorporation and organizational documents.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor Accounting and Business Management teams on best practices related to tax operations.
- State Compliance: File annual reports, franchise tax returns, and other state returns as required.
- Invoicing: Prepare and review invoices for tax services rendered.
- Team Supervision: Supervise tax staff and support their operations within assigned business work teams.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably with a focus on corporate and international tax matters.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with tax software and financial reporting systems.
- CPA designation is preferred but not required.
