Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Project Scheduler to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This full-time position is crucial in ensuring the successful planning, scheduling, and completion of large commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining project schedules using critical path methodologies (CPM) and will collaborate closely with internal teams and contractors to meet project goals and deadlines.
Job Summary
The Construction Scheduler will develop, update, and manage project schedules from the conceptual stage through construction completion. The role involves coordinating with preconstruction teams, project managers, superintendents, and contractors to set milestones and deadlines, facilitate project baselines, and lead schedule update meetings. The position requires a focus on ensuring projects stay on track and meet completion deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with preconstruction, project, and construction teams to create and maintain detailed project schedules, highlighting key milestones and critical activities.
- Develop cost and resource-loaded schedules to track project progress and monitor dependencies.
- Lead weekly schedule update meetings, ensuring accurate reflection of the project status and integration of new information.
- Coordinate with material management and project teams to align delivery schedules with installation timelines.
- Manage pull planning sessions to ensure consistency with baseline schedules.
- Analyze the impact of design changes or delays on project schedules and keep leadership informed.
- Provide regular reports and updates on project status to teams and leadership.
- Visit project sites and offices to monitor project progress and participate in meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in large commercial or industrial construction projects.
- At least 2 years of direct scheduling experience, with expertise in critical path management.
- 3+ years of experience using Primavera P6 CPM scheduling in similar industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling methodologies and modern scheduling concepts.
- In-depth understanding of construction technology, codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation abilities.
- Experience in managing and resolving project control challenges.
