Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead our San Diego office into the future, with an eye on growth and succession planning. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the firm’s leadership in guiding the expansion of a highly skilled team of civil engineers, surveyors, and designers. For the right candidate, this position may include ownership potential as part of a succession plan, aligning with our commitment to sustained growth and long-term vision in land development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple civil engineering projects, including residential and commercial land development, from planning to completion.
  • Lead, mentor, and direct junior engineers, CAD team members, and drafters to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate directly with senior leadership to support business development and growth objectives.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed engineering designs related to grading, storm drains, utility planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with storm water regulations and manage all aspects of project permits and approvals.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create, review, and refine project designs.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and company leadership to foster positive relationships and align project objectives.

Senior Project Manager Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development in the San Diego area.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and thorough understanding of storm water regulations.
  • Strong technical skills in grading, storm drain, and utility design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and provide effective guidance to the project team.
  • Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Strategic planning experience, with an interest in long-term business development.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills for guiding and developing junior staff.
  • Knowledge of local land development regulations and industry trends
