ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Assurance Lead will be instrumental in building and leading the quality assurance function from the ground up at Neon Screens. This hands-on leadership role is essential to ensure the company’s high standards of quality are met across all software products. As Quality Assurance Lead, you will design and implement quality assurance processes, develop testing strategies, and establish a structured QA organization. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to organize and oversee all testing efforts. This role offers the opportunity to shape the QA function, directly contributing to the delivery of top-quality software.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Build and lead the QA team, including hiring, mentoring, and training QA engineers.
  • Define and implement comprehensive QA processes and strategies for both manual and automated testing.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test suites to ensure complete coverage of all features and functionality.
  • Oversee manual and automated testing activities, ensuring timely and thorough execution of test plans.
  • Collaborate closely with development, product, and engineering teams to understand requirements and plan testing efforts.
  • Utilize tools like Azure Test Plans (or similar) for test case management, tracking, and reporting.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring effective resolution and retesting.
  • Continuously improve the QA process to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.
  • Develop and enforce quality metrics and KPIs to measure and improve performance.
  • Establish CI/CD testing pipelines to support automated testing in the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure that software is delivered with a focus on quality, scalability, and reliability.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a minimum of 2 years in a lead or management role.
  • Strong expertise in both manual and automation testing practices.
  • Proven experience organizing and managing test plans, test cases, and test suites.
  • Proficiency with test management tools (experience with Azure Test Plans is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of modern automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or Microsoft Playwright).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have own computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
  • Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
  • Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 Mbps or more).


"NICE-TO-HAVE" QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience working with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with performance testing and security testing.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and QA’s role within agile cycles.
  • Prior experience in building QA teams and organizations from scratch.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and relevant certifications in cloud computing or backend development are a plus.


ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

  • Base Salary: USD 4,000 - 6,000 depending on experience and location
  • Role type: Full-time Contractor
  • Location: Argentina (Remote - Work from home).
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

RECRUITING PROCESS

  • Application / Screening: When you apply for this position, we will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short psychometric evaluation and a short English proficiency assessment. The idea is to explore if this is a good fit before moving forward.
  • Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role. This helps us gauge your skill level as well as give you a better idea of the required work.
  • Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
  • Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position’s Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.


The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
