Potato Seed Storage Coordinator

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Potato Seed Storage Coordinator who will oversee seed potato storage at designated locations, ensuring quality through optimal conditions, and managing inventory to support production needs. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, field teams, and transport services, as well as monitoring storage conditions and dormancy to prepare for planting cycles.

What does the job involve

• Maintain optimal storage conditions, monitor dormancy, and ensure proper segregation and storage of seed potatoes
• Oversee inventory management
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records for seed potato in storage
  • Maintain proper stock levels for planned distribution
• Conduct quality checks and inspections of potato seed quality
• Coordinate timely transport scheduling and distribution for seeds
• Data Reporting and documentation Weekly and monthly reports on inventory quality matters and documentation of storage conditions and issues
• Implement safety and compliance protocols Ensure proper storage facility maintenance and adherence to health and safety guidelines
• Coordinate with procurement for storage box supply
• Collaboration with farm managers for grading and transport
• Proper supervision of storage operations, storage site team recruitment and management
• Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in agriculture, horticulture, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years in potato seed storage management
• Seed storage expertise, especially in potato storage practices, protocols, and inventory management systems
• Knowledge of inventory management systems, storage best practices, and logistics coordination.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Effective people management skills
• Strong attention to detail

• Logistics and planning ability
