Description:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on a complex application, contributing to its development, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and managing integrations and deployments.

Responsibilities:

• To develop clean, readable, and maintainable software codes according to requirements and specifications, within established or defined quality and performance standards/benchmarks, and within agreed-upon delivery timelines.
• Develop unit-testable codes with corresponding unit tests.
• Reduce technical debt by analyzing code and enhancing the same by code refactoring.
• Perform software architecture and code review, communicate the results to the Software Development Engineers, and ensure they are incorporated.
• Participate in consultation with the Scrum Masters, Development Leads and team members in estimating effort for work assigned.
• Participate in initiatives that improve processes and/or procedures contributing to performance effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Communicate work progress and all pertinent (work-related) information to the Development Lead accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent (required).
• 5+ years of experience in an agile software development environment.
• Proficient in C#.NET, ASP.NET Core, Web API, NHibernate, and Entity Framework.
• Experience with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with front-end development using ReactJS.  AngularJS is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud environments and DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes). GCP is preferred.
• Good understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns to ensure scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Strong foundations in engineering beyond programming languages and frameworks, including knowledge of memory management, caching, system performance measurement, Task Parallel Library (TPL), and data structures.
• Positive and professional approach at all times.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Initiative and ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to tasks.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Ability to empathize with the customer's viewpoint when designing and developing software.
• Advanced communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with NodeJS, Python, and Go is a plus

• This is a pipeline role with an anticipated start date in January 2025.
• The position is open exclusively to candidates based in Costa Rica.
• Please note that occasional in-office presence at the Granadilla office may be required during client visits for planning sessions.
