Accountant / Bookkeeper -- US GAAP -- $200 per week

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This is a full-time, remote position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial management of a growing tech company while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Bookkeeping: Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and balance sheets, ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead monthly and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of tax filings (sales tax, income tax) and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Budgeting Forecasting: Assist in budget creation, tracking, and forecasting financial performance against budget goals.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare and support internal and external audits, ensuring all requested documentation is readily available.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as they arise.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper with a strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance is a plus.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred certification (e.g., CPA or CMA) is a plus but not required.
