Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team at Lucida, a full-service accounting firm dedicated to exceptional client service and operational excellence. As a Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in preparing and filing federal and state tax forms for both businesses and individuals. You will manage a diverse portfolio, provide strategic tax guidance, and engage in various research projects. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a community of over 100 professionals across multiple locations.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and review business and individual tax returns.
- Provide tax planning and projections as requested by clients.
- Research tax issues and recommend process improvements.
- Stay updated on changes in tax law through professional literature and training.
- Consult with clients to understand their financial situations and tax liabilities.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing inquiries in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and industry organizations.
- Supervise and mentor staff involved in tax return preparation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required EA certification required, CPA preferred (JD candidates considered).
- Minimum of 8 full busy seasons in the tax profession, with experience in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Public accounting experience is essential.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to foster teamwork and develop new staff members.
