Area Manager (MRO)

Position Overview:

The Area Manager will oversee the daily operations across multiple repair shop facilities, ensuring high-quality work and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth operations, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring that all repairs are conducted in accordance with FAA Part 145 and OEM guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the overall operations of the repair shops, ensuring that all work on aircraft components meets regulatory and internal standards.
  • Fostering a strong culture of quality and implementing corrective actions based on compliance monitoring.
  • Providing accurate repair estimates and quotations to customers.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand local sales and services.
  • Achieving operational budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Overseeing staffing levels, hiring, and managing the performance of local team members.
  • Ensuring staff receive proper training and maintain up-to-date training records and certifications.
  • Managing operational spending within the allotted budget.
  • Ensuring sufficient inventory of parts and supplies for repair operations.
  • Providing the necessary tools and machinery for effective repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • AP License or equivalent trade-based qualification.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in MRO or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on team goals.
  • Experience in staff recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing inventory and purchasing of aircraft parts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and business acumen.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles with creativity and resilience, while maintaining attention to detail.
