Position Overview
We are looking for dynamic and talented individuals to join our team as Preconstruction Estimators. In this role, you’ll be part of a skilled group of estimators and engineers, contributing to the development of competitive proposals and estimates for impactful projects that shape our community's future. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of estimating and project analysis with guidance from a Senior Estimator.
- Review and analyze drawings and specifications to gather necessary information.
- Develop cost estimates by sourcing specific pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Produce detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with senior preconstruction leadership.
- Train and mentor Junior Estimators, providing both leadership and hands-on experience.
- Engage in design-assist project phases to ensure project success.
- Meet critical project deadlines while delivering accurate and detailed estimates.
- Conduct periodic site visits to understand the project's scope and progress.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency with computer software and a willingness to adapt to new tools and processes.
- Experience in the Electrical Construction industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, including drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong math and accounting skills.
- Potential for leadership and management.
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Professional discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor, both internally and with clients.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, BluBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint familiarity with estimating and scheduling software is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for specific disciplines is a plus.
