Position Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Account Manager to establish and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, combined with excellent interpersonal skills to understand and address customer needs, deliver technical consultations, and ensure alignment of our manufacturing capabilities with customer requirements. This role is crucial to our growth, as you will work directly with customers, both remotely and in person, to build trust and foster long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with both current and prospective customers to understand their needs and offer tailored technical solutions. Build trust-based relationships through effective, consistent communication in person, via phone, and email.
- Technical Consultation: Act as the primary technical resource for customers, translating their needs into viable machining solutions that meet technical and budgetary constraints.
- Solution Development: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to create customized solutions for customer projects, ensuring they align with our capabilities and customer expectations.
- Quoting Estimations: Provide detailed technical input to support accurate estimates, including materials, production timelines, and resource requirements.
- Collaborative Sales Development: Partner with the Account Manager to reinforce relationships with both new and existing customers, ensuring technical solutions support overall business goals.
- Process Improvement: Work with internal teams to standardize and enhance quoting, estimating, and production processes, focusing on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed on CNC machining advancements and industry trends to maintain the competitiveness and quality of our offerings.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or manufacturing, with CNC machining experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining, with the ability to clearly communicate these processes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for building and nurturing customer relationships.
- Proven experience in job quoting and estimation within a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and the Account Manager to ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software experience with JobBOSS2 and/or QuickBooks Online is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as ITAR or AS9100.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems for sales tracking and customer data management.
- Background in fast-growing companies or startups.
