ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Android Developer position is pivotal in shaping the next generation of Android applications for Neon Screens’ clients. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create applications that are robust, responsive, and aligned with the company’s high standards. As a developer in this position, you will play a key role in building features from scratch and refining existing components, ensuring that each app delivers an exceptional user experience. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
  • Help designing client-side and server-side architecture.
  • Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design great attention to detail.
  • Re-use the components to keep the code clear.
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
  • Create security and data protection settings.
  • Build features and applications with a responsive design.
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software.
  • Provide inputs from your end to build robust software solutions.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
  • Understanding of Android Porting and Build process.
  • Having 5+ years of experience in Native apps development.
  • Strong experience with Video Processing.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Design, develop and maintain efficient Android Apps using Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, Jetpack components, SQLite Database, MVVM Architecture.
  • Manage the full technical life-cycle of Android applications during each development phase including functional technical design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Must have own computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
  • Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
  • Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 Mbps or more).


"NICE-TO-HAVE" QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years experience with Kotlin.
  • FireTV/OTT application development.
  • Smart TV apps development.
  • CI/CD pipelines, Server management.
  • Multi-platform hybrid platform language.
  • Backend language: NodeJS.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and relevant certifications in cloud computing or backend development are a plus.


ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

  • Base Salary: USD 4,000 - 6,000 base salary depending on experience and location.
  • Role type: Full-time Contractor
  • Location: Argentina (Remote - Work from home).
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

RECRUITING PROCESS

  • Application / Screening: When you apply for this position, we will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short psychometric evaluation and a short English proficiency assessment. The idea is to explore if this is a good fit before moving forward.
  • Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role. This helps us gauge your skill level as well as give you a better idea of the required work.
  • Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
  • Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position’s Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.


The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
