Bingley Bubble Community Partnership

Bingley Bubble Community Partnership (BBCP) is one of thirteen community partnerships in Bradford District funded by NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Boards. The primary role of community partnerships is to reduce health inequalities, through focusing on prevention and the wider determinants of health and by engaging our communities using an asset-based approach.

BBCP is the lead community partnership for the Bingley and Bingley Rural wards and is joint CP lead for the Baildon ward. The BBCP focusses particularly on the communities served by the following GP practices (which together make up Bingley Bubble Primary Care Network)

  • Baildon Medical Practice
  • Bingley Medical Practice
  • Oak Glen Surgery (Eldwick)
  • Springfield Surgery (Bingley)
  • Wilsden Cullingworth Medical Practice

The leadership team of BBCP is made up of representatives from local health and care services, voluntary and community organisations, the local authority and the patient participation groups from local GPs.

Employment Accountability Arrangements

The role will be employed on behalf of BBCP by Bluebird Care (Calderdale Bradford), who will provide line management and employer support. The post-holder will be accountable to BBCP.  Nominated members of BBCP (primarily the BBCP Chair and the Head of Community Partnership Locality Development) will work closely with the post-holder to develop the role and direct its work programme.

Role Purpose

To co-ordinate and manage a range of health and wellbeing related activities and projects in the BBCP area that aim to reduce health inequalities, through engaging and working collaboratively with our communities and a wide range of partners.

Project management work to include (minimum of 6 hours per week) delivery of a community transport related project. We are looking to set up and help to become self-sustaining, one or more volunteer led community groups that provide transport opportunities for local residents (‘neighbourhood transport networks’). Other aspects of / other options for the project will be developed by the post-holder when in place.

Primary Duties Areas of Responsibility

Community Understanding and Engagement

  • Build an in-depth knowledge of the community partnership area and develop a deep understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of the local community, the activities/services available and the gaps which exist
  • Engage and work with the local community and with a wide range of statutory and non-statutory partners on matters related to the health and wellbeing of the local population
  • Assist in the delivery and promotion of a wide range of health and wellbeing related activities and events (which could potentially include things such as health promotion events, start-up of new community led support groups, assisting a grass-roots organisation with a funding bid, etc.)
  • Manage and build upon BBCP’s social media presence, using this to assist in the promotion of health and wellbeing related information, activities and events in the BBCP area

Community Partnership Co-ordination

  • Coordinate shared solutions across the Bingley Bubble partnership area, ensuring a collaborative approach to sharing skills, expertise, resources and reducing duplication
  • Take the lead on promoting and administering the BBCP small grant process, linking with providers as required and ensuring monitoring and evaluation reports are submitted on schedule
  • Act as project manager for small health and wellbeing projects commissioned and / or delivered by BBCP – leading on the development, monitoring, implementation (where relevant) and evaluation of such projects, working closing with delivery partners – including a minimum of 6 hours per week working on a community transport related project funded by Core20+5 reducing healthcare inequalities monies

Other responsibilities

  • To write and present reports related to your work at BBCP meetings
  • To be responsive and flexible in your approach.
  • To actively participate in supervision and meetings with Bluebird Care (Calderdale Bradford) Service Manager.
  • To attend training and ongoing personal development opportunities.
  • To ensure that Bluebird Care (Calderdale Bradford) policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • To undertake other responsibilities and tasks as reasonably asked by line management, the BBCP Chair or the Head of Community Partnership Locality Development (Shipley)
