In this instance, we are on the lookout for a/an Construction Manager to lead projects in the Oil Gas sector in Portugal.

Location: Sines, Portugal.

Work Modality: on-site work.

Responsibilities:

• Attend daily and weekly meetings to monitor project progress.
• Oversee and validate the construction execution plan and the progress of daily work.
• Coordinate, supervise, and manage on-site construction activities through supervisors.
• Review the EPCM contractor’s weekly and monthly reports on contract status, project costs, and potential changes.
• Collaborate with the EPCM contractor to ensure productivity goals are met and emerging issues are resolved.
• Coordinate the integration of construction activities with different departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance.
• Ensure that safety and quality standards are met on site.
• Analyze and mitigate construction risks.
• Provide technical support to the EPCM contractor and the project manager.
• Assist in the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Participate in the completion and close-out of the project.

Requirements:

• University degree in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and controlling construction projects in the Oil Gas sector.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, and the performance of contractors and suppliers, as well as reviewing and managing contractual terms, with a focus on risk minimization.
• Experience in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders (EPCM, subcontractors, suppliers).
• Knowledge of cost management and detection of delays in project progress.
• Advanced proficiency in project planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level).
