Compliance Manager - US - Fully Remote

We started out with natural remedies for things like kidney stones, gallstones, UTIs, and acid reflux. But over the years, we've expanded to cover other major health concerns like Type 2 Diabetes and heart health.

Because of our tremendous growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Manager to join our remote team. In this role, you will manage our global compliance framework, ensuring we adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain the highest ethical standards across our marketing and product development efforts. Your work will be crucial in upholding our reputation for integrity as we continue to grow and reach new markets.

Compensation: 

  • Core Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 
  • Location: 100% Remote in the USA (team of 18+)
  • Benefits: Health Stipend/Dental/Vision/Disability/Life + Unlimited PTO
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT (with flexibility based on location)

What You'll Do:

Navigate Global Regulations

  • Become the Barton expert on dietary supplement regulations in the US, as well as the EU and Asia-Pacific.
  • Work closely with our product development and marketing teams to ensure compliance with FDA, FTC, EFSA, and other relevant guidelines as needed.
  • Keep us ahead of the curve by proactively monitoring regulatory changes and adapting our practices accordingly.

Champion Ethical Marketing

  • Review and approve marketing materials, verifying claims are truthful and substantiated by scientific evidence.
  • Collaborate with our affiliate marketing partners to maintain transparent and compliant promotional practices.
  • Develop and deliver training to keep our team up-to-date on marketing regulations and best practices.

Protect Customer Data

  • Implement robust data protection measures in line with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws as needed.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Serve as our in-house expert on global data privacy compliance.

Foster a Culture of Compliance

  • Design and lead internal training programs to build compliance awareness across the organization.
  • Conduct periodic audits to assess adherence to policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage with legal counsel to ensure our strategies align with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop a crisis management plan to mitigate risk and protect our reputation.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of compliance experience in the supplement, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
  • Deep knowledge of FDA and FTC regulatory compliance and working knowledge of EFSA and GDPR, with the drive and willingness to learn and understand all areas of necessary compliance.
  • Understanding of affiliate marketing compliance and disclosure requirements.
  • Strong project management skills to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communicator who can translate complex regulations into actionable guidance.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
