PLC Automation Engineer

An Automation Engineer consultant works with programming, testing, and commissioning in order to create solutions adapted to different product types and customer needs. The focus is on automation engineering in alignment with process engineering to ensure the total functionality.

The consultant performs analysis, and system design and creates original or modified existing HMI, database, and PLC programs to meet project requirements. The work can also consistof ongoing customer support troubleshooting and automation training for customer personnel on systems/modules.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and elaborate complete new architecture for automation solutions.

• Design automation solutions according to legal demands, corporate standards and product specifications.

• Analyse, calculate, simulate, and prove design before manufacture and testing.

• Document and present suggested solutions.

• Create work breakdowns, time schedules, and cost estimations.

• Define and revise test specifications/reports.

• Execute virtual and physical tests.

• Document and release according to corporate standards.

Required skills:

• Rockwell Studio 5000

• PLC programming

• High-level programming (Including understanding of Object Oriented Programming)

• Knowledge about electrical design

• Matlab

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
