We are recruiting for an Assistant Team leader to join our North Field Service Engineers. The position is full time, and we would love you to work within our Service Department to maintain, repair, service and modify a range of other material handling equipment. Because we are independent every challenge is new and different, and we would really welcome your help.

We would love your help with:

🧰 Over seeing, planning and supporting Our awesome Northern Team Leader with the daily tasks of services, maintaining and overhaul, fault find and resolve on a range of material handling products within the team.

⚙️ Assisting to help set individual and team goals and initiatives, helping with formal 1-2-1’s in line with business policy. Ensuring that your team have the support and communication to help them to respond to breakdowns.

⚙️ Be our brand ambassador at all times. - We pride ourselves on our customer service. You’re the face of our company we are looking for someone that can build a good rapport deal promptly with customer downtime helping to keep their business moving!

⚙️ Shows initiative and can help to support and direct others when they need it as well as accomplish their own tasks.

⚙️ Ensure compliance in line with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality regulations. Monitor performance and conduct evaluations, Driving process adherence in all areas.

⚙️ Deliver agreed KPI’s in all area’s. Achieve agreed targets, i.e., response time.

⚙️ Completion of documentation to company standards./

⚙️ Liaise with our parts team to ensure appropriate stock levels are held on the company vehicle.

⚙️ We would love your help with working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains etc.)

⚙️ Do you have experience in Electrical drive and control systems, Diesel and LPG engines and common drive-trains? Hydraulics?

⚙️ Undertake small projects and assist with special projects as required.

⚙️ Collaborate with multiple departments to review issues, using a continuous improvement approach that ensures the root cause.

⚙️ Work closely with the technical training team to develop and deliver training programs which ensure high levels of competency within your area and the required skill set mix.

⚙️ Engage with, manage and deliver actions and solutions to employee feedback.

What will help you to excel in this role:

⚙️ Leadership experience or looking to progress and have been within a forklift field service engineer role similar role/industry.

⚙️ Being motivational to people, a character that’s able to inspire and develop strong teams/individuals.

⚙️ IT literacy, particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint

⚙️ A well rounded individual that is great with problem solving and dealing with people at all levels.

Servicing:

⚙️ Gas, diesel and electric powered forklift trucks

 ⚙️ Using check sheets i.e checking brakes, lifting assembly steering in working order.

⚙️ Changing oil and filters as necessary.

⚙️ Thorough Examinations pending qualifications.

⚙️ Preventative Maintenance, such as lubricating steering and lifting equipment.

Battery Maintenance:

⚙️ Check voltages and fluid levels of forklift trucks, using meters and hydrometers.

Qualifications and Skills of the Forklift Field Service Engineer:

You will have worked with material handling products or hold an engineering position and are looking for the next step to further your career however, we are open to considering candidates from other backgrounds such as: Automotive, Roadside recovery, Agricultural, REME, Construction Equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV or Plant.

Essential to have:

⚙️ Full UK driving license.

⚙️ City and Guilds in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering related field

⚙️ Diagnostic computer skills

⚙️ Qualified in related field or similar years’ experience

⚙️ Able to work unsupervised as required

⚙️ Experience in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering in heavy goods / plant machinery / automotive
