Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is part of the Accounting Reporting team of West Coast Supply Group and is responsible for Financial Accounting of one or more Legal Entities within the West Coast Supply Group. You are part of a team of Senior Accountants and an Assistant Manager Accounting Reporting. The Senior Accountant reports to the Manager Accounting Reporting.

The Senior Accountant is an ambitious, educated professional who contributes in further professionalizing the Accounting Reporting processes within the West Coast Supply Group. The Senior Accountant works closely with the colleagues of the accounting reporting team and the operational teams that have impact on financial processes within the legal entities (e.g. Supply Chain, Enabling functions and Trade). The Senior Accountant is able to monitor changes in processes that impact the financial administration and is able to adjust to these changes by making decisions and setting priorities.

This is how you tackle your day:

Accounting

• Responsible for monitoring and evaluating of all accounting process to ensure timely and complete financial administration according to laws, regulations and internal requirements:
  • Processing bank statements
  • Fixed assets administration
  • Processing of cost allocations, revaluations, salary journals, accruals, provisions, tax bookings
  • Supplier and Customer approval in ERP system
    
• Ensure timely reporting of relevant taxes including reconciliation of Balance Sheet positions:
  • Prepare and submit VAT, CBS, IDEP returns
  • Prepare and submit Statiegeld returns
  • Prepare weekly Consumption Tax payment
  • Prepare quarterly Consumption Tax returns
  • Prepare packaging tax returns
  • Monitor and manage communication with external parties
  • Intercompany balances reconciliation
  • 
    

Financial Reporting

• Monthly Closing Process:
  • Support the monthly closing processes and deadlines of the Accounting Reporting team
  • Trial Balance is based on the matching principle and accrual based accounting (obtain information from the operational teams to prepare and challenge monthly accruals)
  • Ensure timely reporting of trial balance including analytical review
  • 
    
• Annual Reporting Process:
  • Participate in interim process inquiries by the external auditor and provide supporting documentation of the process descriptions.
  • Support in the year-end audit process with the external auditor (e.g. sample testing, goods movement overview, accrual administration, provision accounting)

Our Senior Accountant is a hands-on, pro-active and open minded personality. You are organised and structured and have an open and clear communication style. You are a true team player. 

Profile

• You are living in the Netherlands
• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in financial accounting/GL-administration
• You have at least 4 years of relevant experience in an all-round Accountant position in a fast-paced commercial environment
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch accounting standards guidelines
• You have experience with Microsoft Navision. Qlickview, XI-reporting.
