We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Contract Psychotherapist/Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with a Texas license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC to join our growing practice. We specialize in a range of therapeutic areas, including relationships, the LGBTQIA+ community, addiction, family dynamics/conflict, post-partum issues, and parent/child dynamics. We would love to hear from you if you are a flexible and collaborative therapist willing to adapt to new processes and policies as we expand our new business.
*Positions*:
Title: Contract Psychotherapist (1099) & Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (1099)
Type: Part-Time/Independent Contractor (Role can potentially become full-time depending on clinician goals)
Schedule: Personal preference of clinician - However, commitment is required to lead a group at least one evening per week from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
*Key Responsibilities*:
Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Address therapeutic needs focused on relationships, LGBTQIA+ matters, substance addiction, post-partum issues, and parent/child dynamics.
Lead at least one weekly group therapy session in the evenings.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Collaborate with clients to set and achieve therapeutic goals.
Maintain accurate and timely client records following professional standards and state regulations.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to developing and refining practice processes and policies.
Enroll in the Severance platform to get credentialed through insurance carriers offered to clinicians by the platform.
*Qualifications for licensed psychotherapist*:
Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Valid and ACTIVE state license to practice as a psychotherapist/clinician (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPC).
Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varied concerns, including relationships, couples, ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, Intrusive/Obsessive thinking, post-partum experiences, and parent/child/family issues.
Competence in leading therapeutic groups.
Realistic expectations around caseload growth.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to agree to a background check.
Flexibility and adaptability as the practice grows and evolves.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must carry malpractice insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000/$3,000,000.
*Qualifications for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor*:
Candidates must meet specific educational and certification requirements, which include:
An associate’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field combined with a total of 4 years experience working in substance/alcohol use treatment and recovery.
Candidates must have completed state-mandated training programs and have passed the relevant licensing exam.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for LCDCs, who work closely with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of addiction, recovery processes, treatment modalities, and the ability to develop and implement treatment plans.
They must also maintain a current license and stay updated with continuing education to meet state certification requirements.
Compassion, patience, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards are key personal attributes sought in qualified candidates.
*Preferred Qualifications*:
- Previous experience in a private practice or clinical setting.
- Curious, creative, and motivated to help improve and/or expand current company processes.
- Preferred: experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, substance and alcohol use disorders, and alternative addictions (porn use, gambling, food, sex, etc.)
*Bonus: Candidate holding an LCSW, LMFT, LPC Texas License, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and/or Certified Sex Therapist credential.
