Light/Medium Automotive, RV, Diesel Tech

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems.

Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.

Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.

Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.

Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.

Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems.

Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.

R and R assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.

Repair or replace RV Housing, AC, Hot water heater, appliances, leveling jacks, slides.

Perform carpentry repairs.

Diagnosing and Inspecting:

RV techs diagnose issues by examining the entire vehicle.

They inspect gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and chassis/towing systems.

Adjusting and Repairing:

Adjust, repair, or overhaul components. Think of them as the MacGyvers of the open road.

From frayed wiring to broken connections, ohmmeters. Plumbing acting up? Whether it’s fixing a leaky pipe or ensuring the propane gas lines are shipshape.

Generators, Appliances, and Interior Components.

Certificates and Licenses:

Prefer RVTI Certifications, Electrical/Electrical Systems, Brakes, Suspension and Steering, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Heating, and Air Conditioning preferred.

Current and Valid Driver’s License.

Education/Experience:

Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing equipment, gauges, and tools normally associated with troubleshooting and repair.
