Job Summary
Posterity Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. We are a federal government contractor seeking to hire a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Role and Responsibilities
- Establishes procedures and recommends changes in policy.
- Applies the laws, regulations, and principles of equal employment opportunity to personnel situations and recruitment.
- Assists in overall personnel administration, including appointments, promotions, transfers, demotions, suspensions, layoffs, and dismissals.
- Provides counseling to management and employees on grievances and other complaints originating from individual work situations or work environments.
- Participates in activities such as the classification of positions, preparation of job specifications, job analysis, evaluation of applicants, research, compensation studies, labor relations, recruitment, and manpower forecasting.
- Engages in the full cycle recruitment process.
- Coordinates implementation/ maintenance of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
- Partners with employees and management to administer and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
- Maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Ensures legal and ethical compliance with state and federal laws.
Education
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management (or relevant field of study).
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Government experience required.
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP (PREFERRED)

- Familiarity with military terminology
- Advanced working knowledge of SCA
- Advanced knowledge of Federal Contracts (FAR &DFAR)
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive correspondence in a professional and technical manner
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Familiar with computers and have experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially word processing and data management.
- Previous experience in a Human Resources role
- General knowledge of HR laws to include benefits administration, FMLA, COBRA, ACA, EPA and FLSA practices, and policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Able to communicate and work cooperatively with internal and external personnel.
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
