Network Engineer

 Posterity Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. We are a federal government contractor seeking to hire a Network Engineer to provide technical support to end users at the Rockville office and infrastructure environments. Strong desktop, network, server, analytical, planning, organizing and problem-solving skills are needed to be successful in this position.

Duties: 

· Design, configure, and maintain network hardware including Cisco routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

· Implement security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access.

· Utilize scripting skills to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.

· Manage remote access software to facilitate secure connections for remote users.

· Support file transfer protocols (FTP) for data management across the network.

· Ensure compatibility with various operating systems.

· Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Experience: 

· Computer networking: 1 year (Preferred)

· LAN: 1 year (Preferred)

· Proven experience in network engineering or a related field.

· Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols.

· Familiarity with firewall configurations and security best practices.

· Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks is highly desirable.

· Experience in the Azure / Entra services suite, such as AVD, VM, Azure networking, Intune, Defender, SAML Authentication with Entra ID, and Exchange 

· Experience with virtualization products such as VMWare and Hyper-V

· Experience configuring switches and firewalls remotely 

· A solid understanding of VLANs and subnetting 

· Experience troubleshooting and configuring Windows Servers 

· Proficiency in managing telecommunication systems and remote access solutions.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.

· Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
