Audio Technology Coordinator

Summary

The Audio Technology Coordinator (ATC) will oversee the NMC Audio Technology program, which offers students the opportunity to earn an Associate’s degree and/or certificates/certifications in the field of Audio Technology.

Qualifications

Four-year Bachelor's Degree (required)

Between 2 and 5 years experience (required)

Audio Tech industry and teaching experience, working in a training school, or institution of higher education. (required)

Certifications: in Logic Pro, Pro Tools, and other professional certifications in Audio Technology (preferred)

Essential Responsibilities

  • (Critical) Works with the Director of Music Programs to help develop the academic and noncredit schedule of courses for each semester, including EES courses and Apple Trainings.

  • (Critical)Teaches up to 16 contact hours per academic year and supervises the "Open Lab" times while assisting students with technology and projects.

  • (Critical) Develops and initiates noncredit Apple and Avid classes by creating a plan for the annual calendar of training and recruits qualified instructors for additional training while keeping records and submitting appropriate paperwork for all Apple and Avid classes.

  • (Critical) Creates and maintains a community presence by having open houses, student tours, and demonstrations/performance events while having an active and positive on-campus presence with current and potential students and NMC faculty and staff.

  • (Critical) Manages NMC Audio Tech Labs and classroom, stays abreast of new technologies and tools, makes recommendations for needed software, hardware, updates, etc., and provides or secures routine maintenance of Audio Tech equipment.

  • (Critical) Develops and maintains a network of industry professionals to assess current industry trends and foster internship, job placement, and recruiting opportunities.

  • (Critical) Supervises Audio Tech teaching faculty providing leadership and guidance on course content and curriculum alignment. Plans for faculty professional development to ensure instructor preparedness.

  • (Critical) Develops and initiates a successful marketing/recruiting plan. Works with the NMC Public Relations and Admissions Departments to drive that plan into action.

  • (Critical) Supervises others in accordance with NMC's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, and recognizing employees; and addressing performance problems or gaps.
