This position provides office, administrative and operational support services to the Student Life Department.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus college coursework related to the position
  • Three years of work experience related to the position
  • Word processing skills and experience
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Internet, email, calendaring software

Preferred: 

  • Associate Degree
  • Experience updating webpages 
  • Experience using social media 
  • Experience with database programs (i.e. Banner and Microsoft Access) 
  • Experience with marketing and promotion 
  • Experience with spreadsheet programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel)

Essential Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greets walk-in customers, answers multi-line telephones, schedules appointments for director and professional staff, and coordinates the preparation and dissemination of messages to students 
  • Assists with updating content on web pages 
  • Prepares and maintains student records 
  • Supports with the coordination of special activities, events and conferences 
  • Interacts with and assists students daily 
  • Composes correspondence 
  • Complies information and prepares reports

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
