Job Summary

Our Payment Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for accurately matching and reconciling payments received from health insurance companies with our clients bank accounts. This role ensures that payments are accurately recorded, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and financial records are kept up to date. This position plays a critical role in supporting the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Review, verify, and reconcile payments posted from health insurance companies with clients’ bank account transactions.

Analyze and investigate discrepancies between posted payments and actual bank deposits, ensuring accurate financial records.

Identify any billing or posting errors, missing payments, or adjustments, and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.

Maintain detailed and organized records of reconciliations, transactions, and any necessary adjustments.

Collaborate with the client relations teams to address and resolve payment discrepancies.

Generate regular reports and summaries on payment reconciliation status, highlighting any unresolved issues.

Assist in monthly and quarterly closing processes by ensuring reconciliations are complete and accurate.

Support continuous improvement of reconciliation processes, offering recommendations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience in payment reconciliation, accounts receivable, medical billing, or revenue cycle management.

Familiarity with health insurance payment processes and terminology is preferred.

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with healthcare payment systems is a plus.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
