Instructional Connections, LLC is a fully integrated provider of high-quality instructional support services to colleges and universities that offer online courses and degree programs. Universities work collaboratively with Instructional Connections to deliver high-quality asynchronous courses at an affordable cost. Within the online course, students are assigned an Academic Coach (sometimes referred to by a different title for different programs - Teaching Assistant, Course Assistant, Instructional Associate, etc.). We are currently working with 55+ public and state universities (over 75 programs), and hoping to add several others in the coming year.
Our Academic Coaches are highly qualified, experienced practitioners (with the minimum of a conferred Master’s Degree or greater in the course subject area) who most frequently serve as the liaison between the university's faculty of record and their students within the assigned online courses and programs. An Academic Coach's exact qualifications and requirements are tailored to each university partner's program needs and requests. Often, the Academic Coach is the student's initial point of contact within the online course and serves similarly to how a traditional graduate teaching assistant does at a university.
Academic Coaches may be asked to grade assignments per faculty directions, monitor discussion threads, answer inquiries/emails within 24 hours, monitor student engagement, provide asynchronous student support, and regularly check in with the university's faculty of record. Academic Coaches serve as facilitators and graders, while university faculty members are the instructors of record for the online courses.
Most of the online programs we support are year-round, with 4-7 course starts throughout the year, and are graduate-level programs designed and tailored for working professionals (adult learners, 25+).
Academic Coach positions are remote, work from home (within the US).
