Shift: 645a-715p Weekend: every other "RN Job Description Summary Work Experience (Basic): 2 years of acute care RN experience Work Experience (Desired): None Education (Required): Diploma or Associate Education (Desired): Certification (Required): Registered Nurse Certification (Desired): Unit Description Facility: Norton Audubon Hospital Unit Name/Type of unit: 6East Ortho/Neuro Selling points for the unit: Staff who take pride in teamwork, amazing management group # beds/procedures:30 Patient ratio: 5:1 at times 6: Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? yes Top diagnosis/procedures: elective knee replacements, elective hip replacement, spine surgeries Common equipment used: IV pumps, rolling walkers, gait belts Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? yes Common medications given: IV ABX, pain meds, htn meds, blood thinners EPIC Charting Scrub Color (are they provided): Galaxy Blue, not provided by hospital Required Skills: • IV insertion • Blood draws • PICC/Central Line management: • Trach Care • Traction • CPM • Epidural/PCA pump • Feeding tubes • Continuous bladder irrigation • Wound vac • Other skills needed?: managing heparin drips, ambulating new post op patients, foley catheter insertion, NG tube placement "
