We are hiring associate-level Transportation Engineers to support our project managers to take transportation projects from concept to construction – that is, from proposal research and development to feasibility analysis and environmental approval, and from preliminary to final design, bidding and construction support.
We are seeking Associate Transportation Engineers for our Folsom, Redding and San Diego offices. Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, you will be providing support on a variety of civil engineering tasks, taking projects from initial concept to preliminary engineering, and from final design through construction. You will be performing engineering work and exercising independent judgment.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Execute engineering tasks for the planning, design and construction of transportation projects
· Produce detailed roadway/structure designs, design calculations, technical reports, and PS&E for transportation facilities
· Coordinate with internal disciplines, utility companies, subconsultants, resource agencies and clients
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
· Oversee project progress and budget/expenditures
· Perform quality control and establish BMPs for work products
· Direct and mentor engineering assistant engineers, technicians and interns in their work
· Support marketing and proposal efforts
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
· California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain reciprocal license within 6 months.
· 4-10 years of transportation project experience after graduation
· CA driver’s license
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Success in delivery of PS&E bid packages for transportation projects
· Understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, and local agency and Caltrans design standards and practices
· Experience with Microsoft Office applications and transportation design software including Civil 3D, MicroStation or AutoCAD
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
· Commitment to delivering quality work products and superior service to clients
Physical Requirements:
· Will sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday
· Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices regularly.
· Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
· Work mostly indoors; occasionally work outdoors
· Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space
· Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat and safety vest
· Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments
· Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane
· Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sites
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Compensation: Annual salary ranges from $100,000 to $135,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience
