For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Admissions Director position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Position:

We are seeking a Admissions Director who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges. If this describes you, then look no further!

Schedule:

Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Review intake referral material on prospective applicants to determine suitability for admission

  • Meet with parents/agencies and applicant to explain intake evaluation process

  • Arrange tours and exploratory visits for parents/agency and applicants

  • Coordinate evaluation procedures with departments and collaborate with other departments to determine suitability for admission

  • Prepare documention for center decision on admissions to parents/agencies and answer any questions concering application status and funding, etc.

  • Initiate funding procedures in accordance with state and county agencies

  • Communicate and consult with departments on progress and any problems that arise with students

  • Establish and maintain a discharge follow-up procedure regarding the outcome of students, data collected and use for program analysis

  • Work with finance department regarding funding and delinquent accounts

  • Collaborate with Executive Director on future strategies for admissions

  • Attend clinicial, medical and special education conventions

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in admissions
