For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Admissions Director position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.
Position:
We are seeking a Admissions Director who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges. If this describes you, then look no further!
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 9am-5pm
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Review intake referral material on prospective applicants to determine suitability for admission
Meet with parents/agencies and applicant to explain intake evaluation process
Arrange tours and exploratory visits for parents/agency and applicants
Coordinate evaluation procedures with departments and collaborate with other departments to determine suitability for admission
Prepare documention for center decision on admissions to parents/agencies and answer any questions concering application status and funding, etc.
Initiate funding procedures in accordance with state and county agencies
Communicate and consult with departments on progress and any problems that arise with students
Establish and maintain a discharge follow-up procedure regarding the outcome of students, data collected and use for program analysis
Work with finance department regarding funding and delinquent accounts
Collaborate with Executive Director on future strategies for admissions
Attend clinicial, medical and special education conventions

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field
Minimum of 3 years experience working in admissions
