Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Titusville, FL , this position is responsible for:
Cook Responsibilities
- Cooking and Meal Preparation : Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, monitor food usage, store dietary supplies properly, report safety issues to the Program Coordinator, and participate in monthly Environment of Care inspections to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards.
Direct Care Responsibilities
Personal Care : Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
Behavioral Support : Implement behavior management plans and support individuals in developing coping strategies.
Skill Development : Facilitate skill-building activities, including social skills, communication, and life skills training.
Crisis Intervention : Recognize signs of distress and de-escalate situations effectively and safely.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities.
Transportation : Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community activities, or school.
Collaboration : Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and family members.
Training and Education : Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in behavioral health support.

Position Details:
Salary:starts at $17.30 / hour (rate is based on education and relevant experience)
Schedule:Monday - Friday: 12pm-8pm

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Additional training in food preparation preferred. Must be able to read at 12th grade level.
EXPERIENCE: At least one year food preparation experience in an institutional setting preferred. Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull
and reach above shoulders.
Schedule:
- Must be able to complete atwo-week(Monday - Friday) new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. Orientations are offered in Orlando, FL and Titusville, FL.
Other Requirements:
Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, and TB Test.
Valid driver's license
